Problem: Unable to use resolutions higher than 1920x1080
Product model: 8KSW21-KVM
Step 1: Check the KVM switch
- Keep the monitor and KVM switch connected.
- Unplug the power cable from the switch and plug it back in. This will ensure that the switch can read the EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) from the monitor.
- Try using the monitor with the switch again and see if you can get the desired resolution.
Step 2: Check the source device
- Disconnect the KVM switch and connect the source device directly to the monitor.
- Check if the source device supports the same resolution as the monitor.
- Try using the monitor with the source device directly and see if you can get the desired resolution.
- If you are able to get the correct resolution via direct connection, there may be compatibility issues with the KVM switch.
Step 3: Troubleshoot the KVM switch
- Check the user manual of the KVM switch to ensure that it supports the desired resolution. (Our 8K KVM switch supports almost all types of resolution & refresh rate combinations unless what you are using is something really special. Anyway, you can check in the manual.)
Step 4: Troubleshoot the monitor
- Check the user manual of the monitor to ensure that it supports the desired resolution.
- Check if there are any settings in the monitor that needs to be adjusted to support the desired resolution.
