8KSW21DP-DM disconnects randomly under windows, Linux 100% stable

Hello there,

my 8KSW21DP-DM randomly looses connection when using the Windows host. Using the other host (Linux) does not have this problem and the connection is stable. I use the same model of cables for each host.

So far I tried to disable USB power saving options on Window, but since Windows 11 all guides and menus are differ from the actual menus.

Hello Jay,

Hi Kevin,

thank you for your response. I have installed the new firmware and will report back in a few days after testing it.

Hello Jay,

Hope this email finds you well.
Does the KVM work well after firmware upgraded?
Where you purchased this KVM,form Amazon store or on our website directly?

Hi

so far there are no issues after the firmware upgrade. Connection with Windows is stable.

I have bought the device from kvm-switch.de.

Hi,
Thanks for your update.
Have a good day~

Hi, I need to revisit my old post, because the problem still happens from time to time.
The disconnection does not happen as frequent as in the past before the firmware update linked above, but it still happens from time to time on my Windows host.

I noticed it occurs mostly, when the other host is not turned on. Current setup is on connection one is a Linux workstation. On connection two I have a Windows host.

Hi Jay,

We are so sorry to have kept you waiting.

  1. Have you tried switch the USB type-A to type-B cable to different USB 3.0 ports in windows PC side to test?
  2. What USB devices are connected, and try disconnect one or two high power devices to test.
  3. You can also check and try updating the windows PC’s USB driver if it is not the latest version.
