C20 dock does not display closed laptop until after login

Hi.
I keep my laptop lid closed. I have the laptop set that when power is detected on the USB-C to power on.
In the morning I power on the dock, this powers on the laptop.
Unfortunately, there is no display on the external monitor. I have to open the laptop, login and then the external screen is detected. After this I can close the lid again and all is ok.

I don’t know how to check the firmware of the dock.
I would have thought that if a laptop lid was closed by default it would output the display during boot up and at the login screen.

Thanks for getting back to us.
The issue may caused by the laptop system limitations.
You can try use the HDMI cable direct conenct to the monitor and set the laptop going to sleep mode,and all screens also sleep,then you can just press the button to wake up laptop,it also seems the laptop screen have the login page and the connected monitor keep off before you login to the desktop page.
