Flashing Lines on Monitor

Just connected up new B30 received today. PC side works great. When connect Macbooks to USB-C1, I receive multiple flashing lines every couple of seconds on the HP 34hc G4 monitor. 2 different macbooks, macbook pro and macbook air. Have tried different USB-C cable. Have checked firmware and found it to be 1.1.0. Performed update using ProAVManager and restarted. Still have flashing lines.

Any solution or additional steps I can take?

Hi,

When switched to the USB-C in and what is the output resolution and refresh rate from the macbook?
How about try lowering the refresh rate to have a check, due to our device only support 3440x1440@60Hz.

Thanks Kevin. It is running at 3440x1440@60HZ on the Mac’s. It is the same resolution and refresh rate that is running on the PC’s.

Hi,

If possible and could you try get a thunderbolt 4 or USB 4 cable to have a test.
I am afraid the provided USB-C cable(USB 3.2 Gen 2) may not work well with your macbook.

Sure I will buy some and try them out.

Hi Kevin, I have tried both USB 4 and Thunderbolt 4 cables from 2 different Macbooks. In both situations I still get a flickering line that alternates across the bottom of the screen and the top of the screen. When I use either of the cables directly to the monitor from either Mac it works fine. Also, am now having issues with the USB 3.0. I have a wireless headset plugged into it and for the first couple days worked fine. Now it stops recognizing the dongle as being attached. I have to power cycle the unit to get it to recognize that it’s connected. What are suggested next steps?

I have got the same issue: new B30 and flashing lines with a Macbook at UBS-C1. Mac mini and PC at USB-Host 2 and 3 work fine. Firmware is 1.1.0. Order #26458. Can you please advise how to proceed?

Hi,
We are so sorry for the issue.
Kindly please try backgrade to our V1.0.6 firmware version for a test.

Hi, I tried to backgrade several times with AB Access Firmware Update Tool from Windows 10 PC (USB-Host 3) with USB-A to microUSB cable with UPG SUCCESS but upon rechecking it still shows Ver 1.1.0, and now Macbook (USB-C1) and Mac mini (USB-Host 2) have black screen. I tried backgrading from my Macbook fist but that did not work.

Hi Clemens,

  1. Please try reboot the iDock B30 again, press the power button or disconnect and reconnect to the power.
  2. If you has downloaded the files into your computer and try running the software locally and as the administrator, please click the “More info” and “Run anyway” if there have a pop up warning windows.
  1. I did reboot the B30 after every firmware update. That did not change anything
  2. I have not had any problem running the Firmware Update Tool. It seems to perform the update (backgrade), Log says UPG SUCCESS, but when rechecking Firmware version after reboot, it always says 1.1.0. Nevertheless display resolution that my Macbook offers for the external display has gone down, so something happened. But also with USB-C1 (Macbook) and HDMI2 (Mac mini) I get a black screen.

So I updated to 1.1.0 again. Everything works except the flashing lines.

When I try firmware update from my Macbook Firmware Update Tool connects, but update gets stuck at 16 or 20%

ad 2. I run Update Tool as administrator (sorry not used to Windows but now found out how to) and did a backgrade to V1.0.6. After reboot Monitor says “No input” at USB-C1, HDMI 1 and 2

Hi Clemens,

Kindly please try backgrade to the older version(V1.0.5), then upgrade to V1.0.6 again and check if this can work or not.

Both 1.0.5 and 1.0.6: Windows PC at HDMI3 works fine but black screen with Macbook at USB-C1 and Mac Mini at HDMI2 (No input Signal)

Upon recheck Update tool always show 1.1.0, but after 1.0.5 and 1.0.6 update max resolution for external display of my MacBook is at 1920x1080
