So I have had the IDock B30 for a couple of weeks now and I have noticed a few minor issues with it. I have a Macbook Pro with an M1 chip plugged into the PC1 USB-C port, a Mac Mini M1 on PC2, and a Windows desktop PC on PC3.
1. The Macbook starts and stops charging while the dock is switched to a different PC.
So I have noticed this weird behavior happening with my Macbook connected to the iDock B30 PC1 USB-C port - when I switch to a different PC on the dock (PC2 or PC3) I constantly hear the charging sound being played from my Macbook (every few minutes or so). It seems like for some reason it suddenly stops and then starts charging again When I am actively using the Macbook on a PC1 USB-C port - this does not happen and it just charges without interruption.
2. I sometimes see the “USB Accessories disabled” warning.
After switching to PC1 USB-C input to my Macbook - I sometimes see a warning: “USB Accessories disabled. Unplug the accessory using too much power to re-enable USB devices”. While actively using my Macbook on a PC1 USB-C port this never pops up - it only happens when I switch to a different PC and switch back after a while. I have no high-current USB devices plugged into the dock or anything like that - the only devices that are plugged in are the two USB wireless dongles for the keyboard and the mouse (both Logitech).
Do you have the windows laptop withnon-intel graphics card?
If possiblean dplease try upgrade the new firmware tohave a check does it fixes your proboem or not: Upgrade via the USB-C input with windows laptop
I have a laptop with nVidia GPU and Intel CPU with integrated graphics - I tried running the Kinetic tool but it doesn’t show any connections. My laptop’s USB-C port does not support display output so I guess that’s the problem… (the laptop is MSI Katana GF66 11UE)
Yeah, the upgrade tool need the latop USB-C support output video.
Please you can fill in the RMA form then our custoer service can help arrange the new replacement for a check.
I don’t really want to return the device - I have all the setup done and cables routed so I would have to tear it all down just to return it which impacts my work… The issues I posted are pretty minor and I can live with that. I am simply reporting those issues so that maybe your technical team could investigate and maybe find a firmware/software fix for it.
