Hi there,
I recently acquired the iDock D23 to set it with a desktop PC and a macbook pro.
When setting it the first time I cannot get the two hdmi screens to work with the macbook pro, while everything else works.
The desktop computer has everything connected to the D23 with the provided cables. The macbook has a thunderbolt port connected to a Dell ThunderboltDock WD19TBS and another thunderbolt to displayport cable connected to the D23. The Dell ThunderboltDock has a USB and a displayport cables connected to the D23, as well as a thunderbolt to displayport cable connected to the D23. The D23 has a displayport cable connected to the displayport monitor, and two displayport to hdmi cables connected to the other monitors. (top diagram on the picture)
However, if instead of connecting from the same sources to the D23, but directly to a couple of hdmi switches places in front of the hdmi monitors, and connecting the D23 monitor outputs to the switches too, I can get everything working. Obviously now, apart from the D23 I also have to activate the hdmi switches when switching between both computers (also replaced the thunderbolt to dp by thunderbolt to hdmi cables):
Any idea on what might be going on and how can I get it to work without the hdmi switches?
I find it confusing that it doesn’t work with the first setup, but that it does when putting a couple of ultra cheap hdmi switches on the middle while keeping the same connections on the macbook and the Dell dock.
