I just got a iDoc D23 that I want to use with two Windows machines (one 10 and one 11) and one monitor, keyboard and mouse.
My monitor is an LG with two HDMI ports.
I’ve tried using both a Dport to HDMI cord AND an active Dport to HDMI dongle, and neither works. The screen remains black.
See image for my setup
Mouse plugged in
Keyboard plugged in
Power cord
Monitor plugged in.
1st attempt with a Dport to HDMI cord - all three slots tried - no picture
2nd attempt with a StarTech.com DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter - 4K 60Hz Active DP 1.4 to HDMI 2.0 - all three slots tried - no picture
Your 2 computer also come with HDMI ports but not DisplayPorts, right?
If so, recommend exchange to our 8KSW21-KVM which caome with HDMI I/O due to you only have oe monitor, and this KVM would be the suitable device for you.
Because if your PCs come with the HDMI, and you shouls need to use the active HDMI-to-DP adapter, but not DP-to-HDMI, they are different. Te DP-to-HDMI is a common one and easy to get it which only support the signal transfer from DP to HDMI, but you need the adapter support signal transfer from HDMI to DP because of your PC is HDMI output.
Your monitor also with HDMI, so in the connections there have 2 vonversions: input from PC is HDMI convert to DisplayPort input, then output from DisplayPort convert to HDMI again, I am afraid they maybe can output image but not support high refresh rate or cannot output video to the monitor directly.
So in our opinion, recommend to consider our 8KSW21-KVM.
Many Thanks.
