iDock D23 with Macbook Pro M4 - issue dual monitor

Hello,

I’m experiencing several issues with the Dock KVM D23 I recently purchased, and I’d appreciate your support.

Here is my setup:

  • A MacBook Pro connected to a Dell SD25TB4 Thunderbolt 4 dock
  • The Dell dock is then connected to the KVM D23, handling display (2 monitors) and USB peripherals
  • The goal is to have a single cable to plug into the laptop for both display and peripherals

Issue 1 – Second monitor flickers and turns off

The second monitor randomly flickers every 2 to 5 minutes, goes black, and then stays off.
Switching between KVM1 and KVM2 temporarily brings it back, but it eventually turns off again.
This makes dual-monitor work highly unreliable.

Issue 2 – USB ports not working via Dell dock

The USB ports on the D23 do not function when connected through the Dell dock. No peripherals (keyboard, mouse, etc.) are detected.
However, if I connect the USB cable from the D23 directly to the MacBook Pro, everything works fine.
This suggests a compatibility or signal issue when going through the Dell dock.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Let me know if you need logs, screenshots, or further details to investigate the problem.

Hi Cyriel,

Thanks for reaching us and we are really sorry for the issues.
For the monitor issue, pleasse you can try lowering the monitor’s output resolution and/or refresh rate to have a test.
Then the USB issue is require the provided USB-A to USB-B cable directly connect from your mac to D23 and bypass the DELL docking.
Because our D23 come for 2 desktops and not recommend to use work with the laptop so that it cannot to make the laptop have single cable connection.
Maybe you can consider our new product,iDock M10, which come for 1 macbook and 1 desktop, 2 HDMI monitors.
