I have a Steelseries Apex Pro keyboard connected to an iDock C10. Every time I switch from laptop to PC or from PC to laptop, the “Space” key is transferred.
I suspected that it might be a peculiarity of the keyboard when it was reconnected. However, the space key only transfers when I switch. So not if I just disconnect and reconnect the keyboard.
Unfortunately, I currently don’t have any other keyboard to further investigate the behavior.
Thanks for get back to us,and truly sorry for this trouble.
We know this problem and the “space” pressed when switching between two PCs is using for auto wake-up sleeping PC function.
Apologize for this inconvenience again.
The “space” pressed when switching between two PCs is using for auto wake-up sleeping PC function and we still not found another better alternative way for it.
We are truly sorry for the inconvenience caused with you.
Received my C10 yesterday and I do also experience this “spacebar” behavior. As I understand this behavior is by design, because it will wake-up the PC or laptop when switching to it.
Why not let the user wake-up the device after switching ? The user can press the spacebar or click a mouse button to wake-up the PC or laptop.
If I disable the sleep function on both devices, the spacebar wouldn’t be necessary.
A nice feature would be to have an option to disable this function. Either by have some sort of switch at the back of the device or software to disable it.
I do understand it is sometimes hard to create a product that meets the expectations of different types of users from basic to advanced.
