U2EX50 not communicating with the host PC

Issue: U2EX50 is not communicating with the host

Product model: U2EX50

If you are having trouble with your U2EX50 USB extender, there are a few things you can do to troubleshoot the issue.

Troubleshooting steps

Here’s a step-by-step guide:

1. Check the USB port

Try connecting the transmitter to another USB port on the PC side. Sometimes, USB ports can be faulty, and switching to another port can solve the issue.

2. Check LED indicators

Check the “Power” and “Status” LED indicators on both the transmitter and the receiver. If the indicators are not in a normal state (solid on/blinking), check if you have connected the Cat X cable properly. Make sure that the cable is securely plugged in and that there are no loose connections.

3. Check the receiver power

Check if you have plugged in the receiver with the power adapter. Without proper power, the receiver will not be able to communicate with the transmitter, and you will not be able to establish a connection.

4. Connect USB devices directly

If none of the above steps have worked, try connecting the USB devices to the PC directly without using the USB extender. If the USB connection works directly, then it’s likely that the USB extender is the problem.
